Upcoming Events:
Next Leaders Meeting:
Monday, May 13th, at Red Ginger at 8:30pm. All den leaders are encouraged to attend, and any/all others are welcome at any time. These meetings of the pack [volunteer] leadership are where lots of decisions and plans for the pack are made.
Rain Gutter Regatta and BBQ:
Sunday, May 19th at 4pm will be our annual Rain Gutter Regatta and BBQ. This is a registration event for next year – bring your check books!
Memorial Day Parade:
We will again be participating in the Stow town Memorial Day Parade.
Cub Scout Family Camp:
Families are encouraged to sign up for the June 22nd/23rd overnight at Camp Resolute. Click on this link to go to the sign up page:

Past Events:
Blue & Gold Banquet:
Our banquet was Tuesday, April 9th, at 6:00pm at the Hudson Portuguese Club. All Cub Scouts moved up to the next rank, and most of our 2nd year Webelos moved up to Boy Scout Troop 1.
Breakfast Hike:
Saturday, March 23rd the pack hiked into the Stow town forest from the Bradley Field parking lot. Boy Scout Troop 1 Stow will join us for the morning activities. Breakfast will be served free of charge, and various group activities will ensue thereafter.
March 26th Pack Meeting:
Tuesday, March 26th, 6:45pm at St. Isidore’s we held our pack talent show.
March 5th Pack Meeting:
Tuesday, March 5th, 6:45pm at St. Isidore’s. Special guest was Dick Williamson from MIT Lincoln Labs, who showed us some amazing science experiments!
Snow Tubing:
Our annual tubing trip to Nashoba Valley Snow Tubing Park was snowed out on Saturday, February 9th. We rescheduled to Saturday, March 9th, and had a great time!
February Pack Meeting:
Thursday, February 14th, 6:45pm at St. Isidore’s. Boy Scout Troop 1 Stow came to show us the details of their recent backpacking trip in California, including a wonderful collection of photos narrated by Scoutmaster JP Benoit, and a bunch of the equipment they used on the trip. Thanks again for sharing all this with us! You really gave the Cub Scouts something to look forward to when they cross over to Boy Scouts.
Pinewood Derby:
Friday, January 25th was weigh-in and practice, and the main event was Saturday, January 26th at St. Isidore’s. Click here for a collection of photos.
Higgins Armory Museum OverKnight:
Our annual pack overnight was held at the Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester on Friday, January 11th. The boys were featured on the back of the Stow Independent on January 30th, 2013:
December Pack Meeting:
Tuesday, December 18th, 6:45pm at St. Isidore’s was December holiday pack meeting. Thank you for the Pinewood Derby car kits, Santa!
November Pack Meeting:
We had our monthly pack meeting on Tuesday, November 20th, 6:45pm at St. Isidore’s. Lots of advancements were awarded, and we talked about Veteran’s Day. Eric Peterson reported in to us about a group of scouts he led in cleaning the Veteran’s Memorial in Stow, and we also heard from three of our dads in the pack who are veterans. We ended the evening with some skits from a few of the dens, followed by a whole lot of whipped cream in some leaders’ faces as a reward for the boys doing so well with our pack’s popcorn fundraiser!
October Pack Meeting / Halloween Party:
Okay it was really just a party, not a meeting.
The Martin family graciously offered to host us again this year at Honey Pot Hill Orchards for our October pack meeting — I mean Halloween party. Thank you Christine and Andrew!!! Scouts and siblings were in costume for hay rides, indoor and small hedge mazes, story telling, and of course cider and donuts. (Friday, October 26th, 6:15pm)
October Cub Day Trek:
Several families from Pack 39 joined many other families from Knox Trail Council at the annual Cub Day Trek event which is held at Nobscot Scout Reservation. Activities included Archery, Hiking, Scavenger Hunt, Crafts, Monkey Bridge, Games, Scout Skills, and a Campfire complete with entertainment. We had a great time!
September Pack Meeting:
Our first pack meeting of this scouting season was held on Tuesday, September 11th, at 6:45pm at St. Isidore’s. We talked about various things like parents volunteering!!!! and also the popcorn kickoff.
Family Camp Weekend:
Knox Trail Council (to which Pack 39 belongs) hosts an annual large-scale Family Camp Weekend at Camp Resolute in nearby Bolton. This year’s theme is Medieval Adventures, and we will be attending the weekend of June 16th & 17th. Click here for more information.

Memorial Day parade:
Every year Pack 39 participates in the Memorial Day Parade here in Stow along with Boy Scout Troop 1. The weather felt more like July 4th, and we had a great showing of cubs in uniform. It was great to see everyone who could make it out. It was particularly nice to hear mention of Pack 39 led by Eric Peterson for the veteran’s memorial cleanup work which was performed recently. Nice job, guys!
BBQ & Rain Gutter Regatta:
Sunday, May 20th at 4pm we hosted a BBQ picnic and registration event at the Stow Community park. The dens also competed in the Rain Gutter Regatta, and Bear den 8 won the final heat! Nice job, guys.
Blue & Gold Banquet:
Our end of year Blue & Gold Banquet was held on Tuesday, April 10th. Congratulations to the 5 boys who moved on to the troop, and all the other scouts for earning their badges of rank. Great job, guys!
Breakfast Hike:
We hiked into the Stow Town Forest on Saturday, March 31st, at 8:00, then ate breakfast and did some skits together.
Museum of Science overnight:
Friday March 16th was our Museum of Science overnight. The kids had a great time!
March Pack Meeting:
Several dens performed some skits for us – great stuff guys, keep ‘em comin’! Mr. Greg Meeker (den 1 assistant den leader) gave us a presentation on his scuba diving adventures, and it was very well received by all. Also uniform inspections were conducted by volunteers from Troop 1, including the Scoutmaster Mr. JP Benoit. Thanks again for the assistance! ALL cub scouts present earned a Uniform Inspection badge which ironically enough can NOT be worn on the uniform:
February Pack Meeting:
For our pack meeting this month we were visited by the Higgins Armory Museum. Here are some photos from the evening.

December Pack Meeting
Tuesday, December 13th, 2011 we held our annual holiday party. We sang The 12 Days Of Summer Camp, visited with Santa, and enjoyed many delicious, home-made treats.
November Pack Meeting
On November 22nd we held our pack meeting which included the Circus Circus event. Each den built their own game, and everyone took turns going around the room playing each den’s game.
October Pack Meeting
Was held on Friday, October 28th, 2011 at Honey Pot Hill Orchards. It was our annual Halloween party, and everyone had a great time. HUGE thank you again to the Martin family!!
Den 14 went canoeing (October 8th, 2011)
Den 14 took a canoe trip on the Concord River to the Old North Bridge. See some pictures here
Our first pack meeting was a success (September 8th, 2011)
After lots of welcomes, introductions, and volunteer motivating
we dove into the popcorn fundraiser kickoff. The foot race was a hit, and all the boys were treated to some popcorn at the end.
We had loads of fun at Family Camp (June 11th & 12th, 2011)
Lots of games, skits, sports, and other activities.
